So, Madison Tweets Now?

As my classmates and I briefly discussed in our previous posts, the American context has vastly changed since the days of the Federalist Papers. Some people argued that Madison and Hamilton would have to re-evaluate the content of the papers based on our current situation. Others say that the current context with social media compliments Madison's and Hamilton's theories. I would tend to lean on the side of the latter. I would argue, however, that the format in which Madison, Hamilton, and Jay make their arguments would need to be updated in order to be effective with our generation. (Although the liberal philosophy and rhetoric definitely still apply)
Changes:
1)Make it shorter---we have a shorter attention span
2) Put it on social media--- where everyone goes to learn the news
3) Less theory--- on average, our generation is swayed by a quick pathos argument with a tinge of logos, not the other way around.

Madison and Hamilton provide the format for an effective modern day federalist paper. I simply shortened it up and placed it in a senior of more micro level relevance. I kept the vibes of fear mongering Hamilton uses in his arguments of what a society would look like if we don't follow his advice, and I kept the structure of Madison's conclusion; I just updated the vocabulary.

To the People of Letts 6 South,

To what expedient shall we prevent the dangers of falling into a distopia of filth and contention? The causes of an unhealthly living environment are innumerable. Piles of slimy mush encrusted dishes. Noises preventing slumber resulting in grumpiness. Sanitary disasters in the bathroom.

For the proper structure of the dorm, therefore, we behold a libertarian remedy for the diseases most incident to an anarchical living arrangement. According to the degree of pleasure and woke-ness we feel in responsible adulting, ought to be our hype in cherishing the spirit and supporting the character of our Residence Life Directors.
